Our goal at Polka Dot Powerhouse is to connect the worlds most positive, drama-free, action-forward women to do business together, collaborate, and foster friendships.  This is not your normal networking group, PDP is all about making genuine connections with women that lift you up and want you to succeed. 

Our speaker Ashley Totin is the Product Engineer at America Makes, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute, located in Youngstown, Ohio. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Youngstown State University.

Prior to joining America Makes, she was the engineering project manager for the Youngstown Business Incubator’s (YBI) Advanced Manufacturing Team where her efforts focused on analyzing business models for the use of additive manufacturing for aerospace maintenance and sustainment. While at YSU Ashley had 3 manufacturing internships at Reznor, Altronics and lastly at America Makes as the workforce and education outreach intern where she developed curriculum for students and teachers for 3D Printing. She then went on to graduate school where her thesis focused on business models for additive manufacturing.  Ashley remains active at YSU as an advisor for the Ohio Lambda Chapter of Tau Beta Pi.

In February 2019, Ashley began to work as a Product Engineer at America Makes in Youngstown, Ohio. She manages technical programs as the regional point of contact, supports America Makes Workforce and Education development and contributes to the innovation facility and regionalization efforts. America Makes has 230 members that range from industry, academia and government. Ashley looks forward to working with the members to advance the technology regionally and nationally.
