Joint Chapter Lake & Hike Day, Donner Lake, Truckee, CA 7:00am-7:00pm (Reno, NV & Placer County CA Chapters)

More details to come on this soon... but here's what we know.

The date is solid. Saturday, Aug 23, 7 am meet up time to leave.

Both the Reno, NV and Placer County, CA Chapters are collaborating on this event.

Anyone can come, members or guests from any chapter.

There will be carpooling from both areas to Donner Lake that day, no one should really drive alone as parking will be limited there.

The plan is to grab a large spot on the beach at the lake for whoever wants to hang out there with water toys, etc. and then those who want to go on a hike through the tunnels will all go right after we find that spot and come back when you want. The tunnel hike is not for beginners typically. The walk itself is not bad, it's flat and shaded most of the way but it's the terrain. You're hiking on river rock and there are places where you'll perhaps get wet. Hikers will want to bring a flashlight, good hiking shoes, and a change of shoes too for when you're done, plus snacks.

Ideally, we can all get back together (the two groups) around 4pm and go have dinner somewhere local before heading home.

If you care to stay over somewhere then just plan who is riding with you, making sure they want to do the same.

We have two coordinators, one from each chapter: Krystal Randolph from Reno and Jess Arce from Placer Cty

They will be keeping track of who's doing what, where we'll eat and who's bringing what. However, more than likely if you're going to be at the lake with water toys, you might want to drive since you'll have more stuff, hikers will have less stuff?? 

Bring chairs, water, coolers, umbrellas, snacks/lunch, sunscreen, and more.

This is a women only trip at this point and max 30 for sure.
