The Foundations of Health: How to stay out of the doctor's office with everyday tools you already have 5/14 (In person Treasure Valley, ID)
-SPEAKER TOPIC-
Everyone defines “being healthy” their own way, but many overlook the most basic health principles. Naturopathic Medicine teaches that addressing the foundations should be the first step towards achieving health goals before higher force interventions. While there are no one-size-fits-all remedies for being healthy, everyday choices can be made to improve overall wellbeing.

-SPEAKER BIO-
Dr. Alexa is a licensed physician in Idaho and Washington. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of Nebraska and her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University (NMD). She was selected for a competitive CNME-accredited primary and specialty care residency which she completed in Seattle, while simultaneously teaching as Adjunct Clinical Supervisor and Associate Professor at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health. Dr. Alexa continued her medical education by studying at the Institute of Functional Medicine where she was awarded the title of “Certified Practitioner” (IFMCP). She is the sitting President of the Idaho Chapter of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (IDAANP) which is working to expand access to naturopathic health care to the citizens of Idaho. At her clinic, Dr. Alexa applies her education in clinical nutrition to further the impact of her immune-support protocols and has treated hundreds of conditions and thousands of patients in both primary and specialty care settings. She utilizes functional medicine treatments and testing, as well as harnesses IV therapy treatments and aesthetic techniques to treat anyone from the inside, out. When not in the office, you'll find her cooking a new recipe, gardening, skiing down a mountain, camping on top of her truck, heading to an outdoor concert, and sometimes all of that in the same weekend if she's lucky.
She is passionate about her patients, family and friends, and advocates for how complementary and alternative medicine can support anyone in any walk of life.
