Our January speaker is Chef Deborah Costella — Let’s Get Sauced!

Chef will treat us to a twenty-minute presentation on making sauces. She’ll talk about the "5 Mother Sauces" and demonstrate how to prepare one of them, along with some discussion and a second little demo on quick and easy Pan Sauces!

About Deborah

Deborah Costella, former ballet dancer, has gone from choreographing movements across the stage to choreographing food upon our plates. As a professional chef and culinary instructor, Deborah has cooked for as well as taught the art of cooking to adults, teens, children, including celebrities and residents of homeless facilities and all that falls in between.

A life-long advocate of cooking and eating to enhance overall health, recent years have led Deborah to focus her attention on the Medicinal ingredients used in her recipes from anise to cinnamon from cannabis to tarragon. She shows us not only how to cook, but how nature’s herbs and spices not only add flavor but offer health benefits while imparting their own energies of feelings and emotions into our food. Deborah’s food philosophy is in adherence to Hippocrates’ adage, “Let Food By Thy Medicine And Medicine Be Thy Food.”

Now living in Ashland, Oregon, she is in the process of opening her first brick and mortar cooking facility, Cosmic Muffin School Of Cookery.
