Join us to learn about Communities in the Schools - programs that are changing and impacting the lives of st risk kids by providing mentors and positive role models.

Communities in Schools is a National wide program with a strong presence in Texas, with 27 local programs throughout the state.  Each local program is a separate non-profit organization with its own local Board of Directors.  In Texas, Communities In Schools (also known as CIS) is overseen by the Texas Education Agency who provides strong guidance and high expectations.   Our affiliate – CIS South Central Texas – is in our 27^th year.  We serve children in 4 counties:  Comal, Guadalupe, Caldwell and Gonzales.   We are in 7 school districts serving 38,000 students in 48 schools, with intensive cased managed services to 4,000 students in Kindergarten through 12th grades. The 7 school districts we serve are Seguin, Comal, New Braunfels, Schertz/Cibolo/Universal City, Marion, Luling and Nixon Smiley.  At each school we place a full-time professional Site Coordinators with Bachelors or Master’s degree in Social Science field like Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology.  Communities In Schools is based on the mantra is that programs don’t change kids – relationships do.

Lunch Options:  You are welcome to bring your own or you can pre-purchase a meal provided by Crosswalk Coffeehouse & Cafe:  Build a Salad for $10 - choose your protein when you purchase and a variety of toppings and dressing choices will be provided. Coffee, Tea and Water provided....you are welcome to bring any other beverage of your choice with you.
